Brand New Car Breaks Down, Can I Get Compensated?

I recently purchased a brand new 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer. The car broke down within 15 days, and less than 3k miles, due to a bad torque converter. My boss is telling me to tell the dealership to give me a new car, but I don't think that would stand, as it is not cause for a lemon law suit. However, it is ridiculous that i have a brand new car that breaks down, and think I should be getting some sort of compensation. Is there anything i can do?
