I have been doing research on problems that have developed over the years from my poor gait. What I'm finding is that it is common for knees to lean inward when pronation is present and to lean outward when supination is present. However, I tend to supinate excessively and to compensate my knees have twisted inward. When I stand with my feet straight ahead, my knees both point inward at almost a perfect 45-degree angle. This condition is causing knee pain and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to get into and out of a squat. I am 37 and overweight by about 40 pounds. I'm trying to lose weight but am very frustrated because, due to my knee pain, I'm finding it difficult to exercise. Are there particular exercises or orthopedics that can be recommended to help correct my gait and return my knees to their proper position?

its not really common, but people do it. At the barn i go to, since there are over 60 horses, they fence off the place they go through. There are two barns, so the just open the paddock door and let a few go at a time, they run through to the old barn, if their stall is there, they go in, if it isn't, they go on to the new barn. Every part is fenced off, although i somehow doubt the horses would want to escape. I mean, they only do that if they have to bring in all the horses for dinner, and i think they would know the routine enough to know that food is waiting in their stalls. I once helped, a few people wait behind the fenced off area and close the stall doors as soon as the horse goes in. To help, you need to know all the horses well enough to know which one is which, so in case one horse went into the wrong stall. Once, when i helping, tango went into sherlock's stall, so sherlock went into cher's stall, so cher had nowhere to go... lol, we had to move all of them cause tango thought sherlock's stall was his... lol

My mom drank some champagne today and after that she started going crazy the alcohol probably went to her brai?

brain. Not too long after she had like 2-3 glasses of champagne she started yelling and throwing things. Today was my daughter's 4th birthday and so she bought her a large cake and my mom started yelling the whole cake is for my daughter and that no one else is getting any. Then she had hit my grandfather and threw something across the room. She said if someone touches the cake she will kill them for having a piece of cake. She was yelling very loudly. And I have noticed most of the times when she drinks she gets upset afterwards and behaves like this, ie, yelling screaming, using profound language, and throwing things and sometimes she gets physical and starts to hit other family members in the house. She has gotten physical with me on many occasions when she was drinking or drunk. She would punch me in the face and tell me I can't be in the living room watching tv because she is there and she doesn't like looking at me and she tells me to get out of the living room or she will kill me. Then when I stay she picks up a broom and starts hitting me with the broom telling me to get out or she will keep hitting me with the broom if I don't leave. Then I leave and come back on purpose and she picks up the broom carrying it around with her and chasing me threatning to hit me with the broom if I come in the living room. she would follow me everywhere with the broom when i come into the living room and threatens to hit me with it if I come out. I have noticed this only happens when she is drinking when she's sober she doesn't act this way could it be the alcohol is making her act this way maybe its kicking her brain in is my mom an alcoholic does she need help?

Either way just talk to him, and explain what you have explained on here, and tell him you are ready for it and you can do it, at the end of the day you should be allowed to do what you feel your ready for, and instructor is only there to guide you.

Quirky people in the horsey community ?

My grandmother is very quirky. She's 91 and has recently taken a 21 year old 14h Arab on loan; the horse was gelded at the age of 18 after a long and happy career, to embark on a new career as a pony club pony. Unable to find a teenager who could handle him, he ended up with my mad Granny. Granny claims she's been riding for 90 years, is deaf as a doorpost, mildly forgetful, and utterly fearless - but not as sharp on her feet as she used to be. She mounts her horse from a step ladder and he's good as gold on the ground but an utter lunatic when ridden. She leads my children on their little ponies from Phoenix the Arab and bellows instructions at the children at all times. She always said she'd keep riding for as long as her horse stayed sound; the old horse came up lame through the winter and had to be retired, at which point Granny bellowed that I needed to find her another because she wasn't ready to be retired yet. (She only stopped skiing a couple of years ago...)

Cake batter will always been 'pourable', so that you can just transfer from bowl to pan w/o anything. Kinda like pancakes. If it's thicker than that, you'll just have to try again and thin it out a little with extra liquid. Find another similar recipe and see if they're basically similar amounts and ingredients. Nope. You would be a-wasting your money!! Your ACT is a point from perfection so you've got that covered. That's a grand score even for MIT and Stanford. Regarding the SAT, don't submit it. Just use your ACT score and you'll be good. Trust me. For you subject test, most schools require (or recommend) you to submit only 2 scores: a math and a science. Your Math II and Bio E scores will definitely suffice for this. I truly don't think you need to retake any, but if you decide to, work on your 2 subject test scores and see if you can get closer to the 800 mark.

Haha, Yes!! My thoroughbred mare hated jumping and would often buck going over and after jumps. I have a video of her bucking after a jump at a show! Like someone else said, stand on the edge of a stair and push them down helps. I found that pushing my heels down while riding my bike helps too. I ride my bike almost everyday in the summer, so I really got to work on it. The things other people have said are good ideas, too.

And the grass thing I thing it is best all around for your horse to get both (not at the same time) but turn them out to pasture for certain times of the year, and then during the winter feed hay. Basically, I love riding but I hate just having a lesson. Skeleton Bones - Is it a horse or a donkey?

I have found a skeleton on my land right next to the fields where horses and Donkeys used to be kept. Its is quite small and although I have not excavated the entire skeleton yet, there is a horse or donkey shoe which is quite small and looks as though it would fit a small foal however young foals are not normally given shoes. What could be causing my overly vivid dreams the past few nights?

It seems that for the past week I haven't been getting the restful sleep I used to be getting, though part of this is due to a slight modification of what time I was waking up over the weekend. (I am used to sleeping till around 10 or 10:30, but over the weekend had to get up around 8)...however to compensate I went to bed a little earlier. Anyway, I can remember for the past 2 or 3 nights, having very vivid dreams....dreams that I can tell in great detail and still remember right now. If you are unexperienced that's a big red flag waving in your face saying NO. Horses can always be great fun and nice but it could be a very different story once you are in the saddle. Walk and Trot is nothing compared on what you have to learn to handle a hard riding horse. Horses are not always fun and easy they take a lot of work. You can love horses but you should do whats best for the horse and let an experienced rider buy her.. But you should continue with lessons if you are taking them and if you have a trainer talk with her. You should lease a horse before even thinking about buying one. You have to groom them, and learn the fundementals of owning one. Horses ARE NOT PETS. They are different from puppies and kittens, they are large animals that really hurt you if you don't know what you are doing.

Trying to size a header what can I do?

I have a house that is 28 feet deep (about) it's a cape cod with a somewhat finished attic. The floor joists for the attic (or cieling joist for the main floor) are spaced 16" o.c. and are 2x8's. Obviously the 2x8's don't run the whole width of the house with out hitting a support wall. However there is a stairwell to the upstairs and the 2x8's run from the outside wall to the stair well wall(10ft or so), which is built in Face Framed 2x4 including the top plate and the 2x8's rest on the face framed 2x4 wall (not nailed to doubled up 2x8's like in normal framing). I would like to open up the stairwell and header up the whole stair well wall. So one beam would hold all these floor joists over an 8 ft span. This is in wisconsin so assume snow load and maybe 40psf since it will be a living area above I guess. It looks like if I'm reading the span table right that I'm going to need 3-2x12? Is this correct or can I get away with 2-2x10? Worst case scenario I can put one colom in the center If I need to. And yes all the supports have been worked out in the basement area to compensate.

It depends what discipline you want to do. Each style of riding takes a lot of time and patience with the horses. A lot of horse riders want to get to national standards of riding, but they don't all get there. What you have been doing in your riding lessons is the basics of horse riding. If your not a horsey person or don't have interest in horse riding then maybe find another thing to do. :)

I'm shooting with a Nikon D5000 and am really not happy with the quality of my photos. I have the 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses. Why is windows DVD maker such a piece of ****?

Always faster, sharper, better color and contrast etc. Sure the 70-200 2.8 will look better than the 50 1.8 but the 50 1.2 will out do the 17-40 4.

I work at a restaurant and during my once a week 6 hour shift, we are allowed a 15 minute break. Then I notice that they deduct this out of our paycheck. I've been reading labor laws and it seems to say that for shifts of 5 or more hours, a 30 minute meal period is required unless waived by both employer and employee. However this restaurant allows us a certain amount of food free, (enough for lunch) and a drink. I'm 14 years old and I love horses. I have 2 horses of my own. I would love to become a professional horse rider like Pippa Funnell, Mary King, and William Fox-Pit. Does anyone have any idea how I could go about getting to that level? I've been around horses since I was born because my cousin and sister had horses and my sister had a lot of horsey friends with their own horses. U shud never choose a class because it would better suit ur skills at something or because it is easier. Choose bio chemistry because it is something u love and interests u. Ehm, that's MY horses mane!?

I have a pony named Robbie, and he had this gorgeous mane, it was so long and thick and it is snowy white. I think it's his best feature. Me and my family went away for a week and left him in the capable hands of our horsey friends, with the instructions that noone could ride him apart from them and the woman who owns the yard. When we got to our destination, the woman who owns the yard calls me and says "One of the riding school horses has fallen sick, and I was wondering if I could use Robbie for an own-a-pony day?" (an own-a-pony day is where children who use the riding school for lessons can have a pony for the day and they groom and clean tack etc.) I wasn't going to be using him as I was in another country, so I said of course, as long as the family looking after him wouldn't need to use him. So a little girl from the riding school was assigned Robbie, and all was fine until they were given a 'manes and tails' lesson. They were platting, thinning and doing MINOR trimming. Well, the little girl who rode Robbie didn't understand minor, and cut a *TRIANGLE* out of his mane! It is unsalvageable, I may need to hog him if I ever want him to look normal until it grows in. I don't think this is fair, seeing as I lent him to the riding school for a day, an he is a show horse. It has really angered me, especially as she just left me to find out, didn't call me and say there had been an incident. I was wondering, do you think I should complain to the owner of the yard, or just leave it?

Should i be getting paid for doing this?

My workplace wants me to watch some training videos. My problem is they want me to do it before my shift, after my shift, or during my lunch break (basically they want us to watch a bunch of hours worth of videos off the clock). You should definitely persue your best interests and start college. If you have really changed, your parents should see that and have no problem with letting you decide whats best for yourself. I am your age and I would want to go to college (although I cant say i have a drug addiction). Besides, youre almost old enough to make your own decisions. If your parents wont let you out this year, theres always next year when they can no longer ttell you what to do. Just do what you think is best. You have the potential to be what you want and obviously if youve turned your life around you can do it!

Horsey people, anything funny happen to you today? ?

My belgian x mare Poppy got loose today (this is a weekly, if not daily, occurrence) and wandered around the outdoor ring and back behind the treeline to visit some of the old guys in their field. Knowing she wouldn't go any further, I continued my barn chores. Just as I was finally getting ready to go get her, my boyfriend started to bring a load of hay up the barn driveway in his struck (a drive between the upper barn and the lower barn, not connected to the road). Poppy screamed at the top of her lungs and came galloping back through the woods and around the outdoor. She chased the hay truck all the way up to her barn, ducked around it, and went into her stall to wait patiently for dinnertime. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants.

Keep taking riding lessons, since your lessons are every other week you really only have 2 years of lessons so far, so you will not advance as fast as someone who takes a lesson every week as most people do. I think you should wait for at least another 4 years when you are 16 and you will not only be a better rider but will know more about what type of horse you really want.

What rights do i have as a house sharer?

I have been living in a share house since 15 January 2011 and when I went to view the property it was asked if I could do a 6 month commitment. this however was not stated in the agreement I subsequently signed. it does stipulate that we each have to give 2 weeks notice. I have been a good tenant, paid my rent on time, did my bit to ensure life in the house goes smooth even after i was literally banned from having my post/packages delivered at my house. on several occasions a courier delivered my items out of the time agreed and in those cases my landlady would reject my parcels and I would have to re-order and have my parcels delivered at work just to avoid that situation. However last week Monday a family member of hers advised me that she fell ill and her mobility has been affected and they want my room back since it's the only bottom floor room. Although this lady made me promise not to move prior to 6 months the family argues they just need to give me two weeks. I do want to assist them but it's been hard, its been a week and I still have not found a suitable place. they refunded me my deposit to sort of have money to secure a place. i have spent so much now on looking for a room and most rooms are �25+ more pw than what I pay now. What are my rights? do I have any. i was literally told today they need the room by Wednesday coming and even that is against the two week notice period. Should they not compensate me for this HUGE inconvenience? i do feel sorry for the lady even though she was totally nasty with me but do i now have to sleep on the streets?
